This emerging technology introduces a new wave of predictive analytics and operational optimization across diverse sectors. As the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) advance, digital twins promise to redefine industrial practices with increasing impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>IEEE Internet Computing<\/em> magazine invites researchers and industry experts to contribute to our forthcoming special issue titled \u201cDigital Twins\u201d. This issue will explore the intersection of digital twin technology with IoT, advanced computing, big data, cybersecurity, and other related topics. Submissions should provide insights into the design, implementation, and enhancement of digital twins and are encouraged to spotlight novel computational methods, inventive system architectures, and significant case studies that illustrate the use of digital twins in improving operational efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital twin applications in sectors such as manufacturing, supply chain, aerospace, healthcare, transportation,\u00a0 construction, and energy<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Architectures and frameworks for digital twin implementation in cloud, fog, and edge computing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interoperability and data integration challenges in digital twin systems<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scalability and management of digital twin systems in distributed computing environments<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Privacy, security, and trust in digital twin applications<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital twins for network design and optimization in telecommunications<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Simulation and real-time analytics in digital twins<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Role of AI and ML in the evolution of digital twins for predictive analytics<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Standardization and regulatory challenges for digital twins<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Submissions with a focus on computing aspects such as data processing, algorithms, system design, and security would be preferred.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h3>Submission Guidelines<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manuscripts must be unpublished and not considered elsewhere for publication.
